Jon Frankel is an experienced TV correspondent who is presently reporting for HBO’s REAL Sports with Bryant Gumbel. In his career he has broadcast human stories of street vendors, crime victims and statesman for NBC, ABC and CBS News. He also produced and directed an independent documentary, Hellfighters, that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was bought for broadcast by ESPN. Jon Frankel is the director of Jon Frankel Films and Ajax Productions.
Director's Statement:
I have spent more than 20 years as a broadcast journalist. In 2003 I was embedded with troops in Kuwait for CBS and in 1997, for the Today Show, I climbed 3000 feet off the floor of Yosemite National Park. I have stood on the Super Bowl sidelines interviewing All-Stars and in the line of fire capturing footage of the Desert War. I have reported, edited, produced and investigated. I have interviewed the well–known and also the know-it-alls – from athletes and celebrities to veterans and criminals. But now, I have stepped behind the camera and want to hear your story.
